2. Across the waters | Dir. Nicolo Donato|12th June – 6.30 pm
The year is 1943. Arne Itkin is a famous Jewish jazz musician living in Copenhagen with his wife Miriam and their son Jakob. Rumours are starting to spread that the Germans are planning to deport all Danish Jews, and as the raid on the Jewish community begins, the family barely manages to escape from their central Copenhagen apartment. They are told they could be sailed across the strait to Sweden by local fishermen, but collaborators and the Gestapo are soon on their track. Now it is all about survival for the small family. Can they rely on the people who would actually be able to help them?
3. The Shamer’s daughter; | Dir.: Kenneth Kainz |13th June – 6.15 pm
The Shamer’s daughter, Dina, has unwillingly inherited her mother’s supernatural ability. She can look straight into the soul of other people, making them feel ashamed of themselves. When the sole heir to the throne is wrongfully accused of the horrible murders of his family, Dina’s mother is lured to Dunark under false pretenses to make him confess. Neglecting to use her ability for the wrong purposes, she is taken prisoner. It is now up to Dina to uncover the truth of the murders, but soon she finds herself whirled into a dangerous power struggle with her own life at risk. In a semi realistic medieval fantasy world with Dragons and Witchcraft, Dina and her family are thrown into the adventure of a lifetime in order to put the rightful heir to the Kingdom of Dunark on the Throne.
4. THE WAIT | Dir.: Emil Langballe |13th June – 7.45 pm
Rokhsar Sediqi, 14, lives in Denmark with her mother, father and five siblings. In her spare time she plays on the local football team. Around five years ago Rokhsar and her family fled from Afghanistan, and after six months on the run they ended up in Denmark and applied for asylum. But the Danish Immigration Service is not convinced they are persecuted by the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the family has repeatedly been refused asylum. They are now waiting for the final decision, but the wait has changed Rokhsar forever.
