Eom Joong-ho is a dishonest ex-detective turned pimp who is in financial trouble because two of his girls have gone missing. He sends Mi-jin, one of his few remaining girls, to Je Yeong-min , a customer, but realizes he was the last customer of his missing girls. Fearing for her safety he goes to look for Mi-jin.

Nam Hyun-soo was once a popular idol star among teens and worshiped liked a god. Although he’s in his mid-thirties now, he’s still a sought-after celebrity and the host of a popular radio show. But one day a very young single mom named Jung-nam sends her stories to the radio show that Hyun-soo hosts. Her stories about her longing to meet her father whom she’s never seen before grips the nation and catapults the ratings to make it the most popular program. But to his surprise, Hyun-soo later confronts none other than Jung-nam, and her 7 year-old boy, Gi-dong. Jung-nam and Gi-dong invade Hyun-soo’s home and his radio station, claiming that Hyun-soo is her father. Hyun-soo does what he can to salvage his celebrity image.

The North and South Korean governments are on the verge of reopening the Kyungui Railroad, which connects the two Koreas, as a further step toward reunification. Japan refuses to accept the decision, claiming rights to the railway lines based on official documents imprinted with the imperial seal of Emperor Gojong of Joseon a century ago. To prove Japan has no right to the ownership, patriotic historian Choi Min-jae, with cooperation from other progressive politicians and the President of South Korea, seeks the authentic Great Seal of King Kojong, which the king hid. King Kojong was the 26th king of the Choson Kingdom and the first emperor of the Taehan Empire. They believe the original seal is a key to demonstrate that most contracts between Korea and Japan were either made forcibly or were faked.
4.Land Of Scarecrows/Heosuabideuleui ddang/2008/80min | Director: Gyeong-tae Roh (09 Aug 2016 | 7.30pm)
A loner, a gypsy-like character, Jiyoung Jang, is an amateur sculptor that lives a very isolated life. Rein, a Filipino, comes to Korea to earn money. She falls in love with Ji-young and marries him but is shocked to discover that he is a transgender.

The story tells of a North Korean father and husband who decides to illegally cross into China to buy medicine for his pregnant wife who is suffering from tuberculosis. However, once he crosses into China, he realises that it’s not as easy as he thought. He finds himself working as an illegal immigrant under the constant threat of being captured by the Chinese authorities and deported back to North Korea. He eventually finds his way to South Korea by entering the German embassy in China. Meanwhile, his wife has already died, leaving their son homeless and wandering around trying to find his father.

In the late 16th century, the kingdom of Joseon is thrown into chaos by the threat of a Japanese invasion. Lee Mong-hak , an illegitimate offspring of the ruling dynasty, and legendary blind swordsman Hwang Jeong-hak. Lee Mong-hak, an illegitimate offspring of the ruling dynasty, forms a rebel army in hopes of overthrowing the inept king and taking the throne himself. Lee Mong-hak is willing to kill recklessly and betray former comrades to forge his bloody path to the palace. Kyeon-ja is the bastard child of a family killed by Lee Mong-hak. Hwang Jeong-hak saves him from an injury caused by Mong-hak. Together the two search for Lee Mong-hak in order to kill him.

Dong-ha is a thirty plus Korean man on a business trip to Chengdu, China where his company is carrying out construction projects to rebuild the city after the earthquake of 2008. There, by chance, he meets May, an old friend from his school days in the U.S. May is originally from Chengdu, and she has come back here after graduation and now works as a tour guide. Dong-ha and May were perhaps more than friends and had feelings for each other then, but they parted ways before they had a chance to define or declare them. Now that they are thrown on each other’s path again, however, they find that the old feelings remain and new ones are forming and that they resemble love.
8.Insadong Scandal /Insadong seukaendeul/2009/109min | Director: Hee-kon Park (11 Aug 2016 | 6.45pm)
A fabled painting from royal palace was discovered after 400 years. Once properly restored, it could fetch at least $40 million in the international auction market. Bae is the owner of the gallery which possesses the painting. She scouts top-tier restoration artist Lee to work on the painting. With Lee’s expert stroke, the controversy surrounding the painting is slowly unveiled. As the painting’s true form is restored, art experts in Korea hold a collective breath. Little do they know that they’re only a part of a bigger scheme.
